Dolls House Holidays give you the chance to do something different. Not only a holiday but the satisfaction of achieving what might be a lifelong ambition: the making of a Dolls House or the furniture to fill it. The Dolls House has always held a dual personality, a child's toy and a collector's item, catering for our fascination of the miniature.

You may be making the Dolls House for yourself or as a very special present to celebrate a precious moment.

Once in the family the Dolls House will be a prized possession and will pass from generation to generation making the gift, if that is what it is to be, something really special. Each house can be personalised with the name or initials and the date of a special occasion or its making, in the way many builders left their mark on houses they built.

A choice of styles are offered, each house designed to make it possible for the complete beginner to produce a perfect result and yet still satisfy the demands of the more experienced. All our designs are 'sized' from existing buildings which gives character sometimes lacking in Dolls Houses. If you wish you can make a house to a design of your own choosing, it is after all YOUR holiday. Our advice to you if you follow this course is - keep it simple.

The method of construction is quite simple, but care and patience will be required to make your Dolls House. You will actually 'make' your Dolls House, this is not assembly from a kit and some basic use of woodwork machinery will be involved. NO PREVIOUS WOODWORK SKILL IS REQUIRED AND THE COMPLETE BEGINNER WILL BE DELIGHTED TO DISCOVER WHAT THEY CAN ACHIEVE as expert tuition will be provided.

You will return home with a delightful Dolls House that you have made yourself for yourself or for someone you love. Years of pleasure lie ahead as you decorate and furnish piece by piece your new home or shop. Most houses are made to a scale of 1:12 but but you can of course use any other scales if you wish.

"As soon as I started decorating I realised it was not going to be big enough". We have heard that comment so often. One answer of course is to add a new wing, a basement, or rooms in the roof to your existing house. An ideal way to get more room without having to move out of your living room. The Georgian Town House is shown with a basement and an extension to the left.

The furniture making holiday is a course for beginners that will enable you to make a number of items of furniture but possibly more important give you the experience of tools and materials to enable you to make even more at home. The number of items made will depend to some extent on the individual. It is hoped to include a dresser, grandfather clock, hall stand with mirror, a table and chair to cover the whole range of furniture making techniques. You may of course wish to make different items and we will do our best to oblige.

A real holiday treat that offers a little of everything. You will make a room box, fit it out, decorate and light it. You can make a Welsh Dresser and a kitchen table and recreate the kitchen scene shown above.

The price of your Dolls House Holiday includes five nights accommodation and all meals from dinner on Sunday evening (7.00pm) to lunch the following Friday, tuition and the costs of all materials required except railings, lights, furnishing, interior fittings and decoration.
